Now it’s time for the fun to really begin! If you read my last blog post (click here) then you know that I’ve begun an exciting bedroom makeover with Lili Alessandra. When we last left off I had shown you the BEFORE pictures of my room and chatted a bit about some of the challenges we were facing. With the initial stages of reviewing the space and discussing my thoughts and inspiration it was time to begin the design collaboration back at the Lili Alessandra flagship store. They have an amazing new boutique in the Vineyard Shopping Center in San Antonio.

THE INSPIRATION:

As I mentioned in my previous post, I envisioned a room that would effortlessly combine both Daddy Russ and I’s tastes. I found a black and white photo of the PRADA art installation in Marfa, Texas and felt that it embodied us – my love of fashion and Daddy Russ’ Texas ranching roots. We utilized that as the starting point of the design direction and inspiration.

Lili Alessandra founder and designer, Sandra Hernandez Yedor, began by having me create a design board. On the board I printed out the photo and other pieces that I wanted to incorporate in the room. I already had a mercury glass lamp that I love as well as a few other items. It was incredibly helpful as it really helped us pull the entire vision together.

THE COLOR PALETTE:

We then moved on to discussing the color palette. I wanted to keep the room light and also needed it to double as a space for my blog photography. Additionally, because of the boys I still needed the space to be functionable.

With the bed being the focal point of the room we began to lay out Lili Alessandra fabric swatches for me to compare with my design board and explore different texture elements. This was so much fun and I loved seeing all the options in the collection.

While there were so many beautiful selections to choose from – it didn’t take me long to know that I was drawn to the silver fabrics within the Lili Alessandra collection. Specifically, the Moderne with its modern design and luxe sheen. Silver/grey is very on-trend and is basically the new neutral. Sandra guided me on what items I would need to properly complete the bed. In addition to the throw she also added two matching Euro Shams and two of the Standard pillows as well to fill the large, King bed.

THE FABRICS:

As I was selecting a more glam throw – I found myself concerned about the bed getting too formal for Daddy Russ’ preferences and wanted to include some more organic fabrics. To achieve this Sandra paired the Moderne with the Emily Diamond Quilt in White Linen along with two matching Euro Luxe pillows. The white gave a bold contrast against the silver of the throw created a bed design that was stylish while still maintaining a grounded and clean look. Additionally, this combination was very versatile as I could transition to an all-white bed when I liked or change the color of my pillows.

THE FINISHING TOUCHES:

To add some additional romance to the bed Sandra paired the bedding with the Emily Gathered Bed Skirt which features a 3-panel design enabling for easier care and cleaning.

Lastly, she incorporated my favorite Lili Alessandra design – the Ellie decorative pillow in Ivory – which was the final touch to this Pinterest-worthy bed. I adore this pillow so much – I think they should rename it The Tori!

With the completion of the bed design – I was eager to begin the excitement of the Lili Alessandra bedroom installation which was still to include a big furniture surprise!
