If you have been following my social media you know that I have been working closely with Lili Alessandra for the past month on quite a few projects (and it’s been one fabulous month). In February we hosted a lovely pre-Valentine’s Day event filled with so many wonderful people who came to celebrate with us. And the last couple of weeks we have begun the process of a full redecoration of my master bedroom! Throughout this month I’ve learned SO much – including I can make my mama proud by now being able to make the PERFECT BED!

STEP 1: Choose Good Sheets That Match Your Space
The bed sheet is the item on the bed that is the closest to you throughout the night and has direct contact with your skin. Lili Alessandra offers the highest-quality sheets that will enhance your overall rest. Their sheets are Italian made 300 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets in a variety of colors as well as featuring embroidered décor. Confused by the thread count? The thread count refers to the number of horizontal and vertical threads per square inch. In general, the higher the thread count, the softer the sheet. Additionally, Egyptian cotton is known for its softness and breathability. Their sheets will have you off to dreamland in no time.
STEP 2: Start with Quilted Velvet Coverlets and Pillows That Are Machine Washable
The coverlet provides you actual warmth in your bed and is layered over the flat sheet. We recommend coordinating the coverlet with quilted European pillows (26” x 26”) or their luxury European pillows (27” x 36”).
All of their quilted velvets are the perfect option for luxe layering and feature a subtle sheen while ensuring extra comfort. The best part….they are all machine washable.
STEP 3: European Pillows Add Depth and Color
To continue building the depth of your bed – add a second layer of European pillows from their bedding collection. These will go in front of the velvet pillows.
STEP 4: Coordinating Duvet at the End of the Bed
For another layer of warmth and depth add a coordinating duvet – we particularly recommend draping it in half over the bottom of the bed. At night you can fold the duvet onto a bench at the foot of your bed or in the winter cozy up under it.
STEP 5: Add a Decorative Pillow (OR TWO)
Next, add one or two decorative pillows. A Lili Alessandra bed is not compete without at least two decorative pillows. This is the perfect opportunity to truly personalize your bed.
STEP 6: Make a Statement with a Throw or Bed Scarf
The final decorative aspect of your bed is a throw or bed scarf which is an optional choice but definitely adds a personal flare. We consider it to be the icing on the cake.
Note: If your bed does not have decorative side rails, a bed skirt will be needed to cover the box spring. For a more tailored look we suggest a single pleat tailored bed skirt. For a more luxurious look we recommend a gathered bed skirt made of velvet or linen.
