Our last Christmas as a family of three is complete! I say this every year but Christmas just keeps getting better and better and it’s all because of Luke. On Christmas Eve Daddy Russ asked me if I was ready for the evening’s festivities and I replied, “Are you kidding?! I was MADE for this!” It’s true – I love all things Christmas and have been looking forward to being Santa for forever. This was the first year that Luke actually understood about Santa and woke us up before the crack of dawn! His excitement was SOOO worth it! His life and joy is such a gift to us.
God has so much in store for this family in 2015. I want to let go of my fears and anxieties and just really embrace his plans with calm and assurance.
The season was so busy and, frankly, my normal energy level just wasn’t there but we made the most of it. One of my most favorite moments during the last couple of weeks was at candlelight service on Christmas Eve. Daddy Russ had his arm wrapped around me and had just given me a gentle kiss on my temple. Luke was standing between us, the choir was singing Silent Night and I felt this immediate connection to the baby in my belly. Really it was like a connection between all four of us and just felt like God was enveloping us. It was perfect. It was pure contentedness.
I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas and moments of pure contentedness just like this.
