“Wanna play with me, Mommy?” Being an only child my sweet boy has always played really well by himself. But lately there are times when I’ll be working on my computer and he’ll lean on me and ask me, “Wanna play with me, Mommy?” There are days when I have work coming out my ears, unending calls coming in from clients and a list of things to do around the house. But when that little boy asks me that question in his little voice I force myself to lay it all aside and give him my focus and attention.
Those moments where we are sitting on the floor playing Legos or racing his cars around the kitchen are the ultimate break. His smiles and laughter ease the stress. And his, “I love you so much, Mommy” melt away everything else that weighs on me.
So my answer will continue to be… “Yes, Lukie Bear! I’ll play with you!”
