Every night before bed I tell Luke, “Let’s go read books.” He knows exactly what that means. He’ll grab his blanket, run to the chair in his room and climb on up waiting for me to come in. It’s a special time for him and I. The day is winding down and the house begins to get quiet. I turn on the lamp, grab a book and then nestle Luke down in my lap. It’s definitely a time in life that I know I’m going to miss one day.

Recently we have a new favorite book and this is a book every single San Antonio family should own…Goodnight San Antonio.

1This past weekend I was so blessed to meet both the author, Jennifer Gaines Drez and illustrator, Lisa Carrington Voight! I immediately fell in love with them! They are definitely my kind of gals that I’d love to spend the evening chatting with over a glass of wine.

2Jennifer and Lisa’s first collaboration was a book called, Goodnight Cowtown, about Ft. Worth, Texas where they currently live. The two families frequently visit San Antonio and fell in love with the city and its rich heritage. They decided it would be the perfect location for their next book! The book captures familiar San Antonio tourist spots such as the Alamo, River Walk, The Majestic Theater, SeaWorld and much more! What I was truly drawn to was that they wanted to create books that instill a sense of pride in the cities that Texas children live in.

Think we might see a Goodnight Houston or Goodnight Austin in the near future? I sure hope so!!

I completely agree! The author said she actually has one fan that uses it as a guest book for people to sign when they visit!
