A maxi dress is pretty much a staple in every pregnant woman’s closet. There is plenty of room for growing baby bellies and they are comfortable while stylish. But I have some tricks for how to wear a maxi dress when pregnant.
One of the things I look for in maxi dresses are stunning prints and Show Me Your Mumu (sidenote – LOVE the name of this company) has the perfect cuts and prints to help you look like a gorgeous, pregnant fairy. Additionally, their dresses are actually non-maternity so you can wear them after pregnancy as well!
A great trick is to add a belt just above your bump. It will give you a bit more of a waistline and be flattering to your bump. You can also add a WIDE belt just below your bump for more of a pregnant gypsy look.
Don’t forget to accessorize! I wore my maxi dress with a lovely floral headpiece from Love Sparkle Pretty. I actually previously wore this headpiece here. But you can certainly add necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings.
Add a jacket! Particularly with a solid print maxi. Layering will make you look more put together and can also keep you warm on a chilly evening.
Wear just the right shoes! A casual maxi can completely be dressed up with a pair of fancy shoes! I selected a pair of Elaine Turner wedges that had the perfect matching hot pink accent.
