All eyes turned to fall last week as I had the pleasure of attending the Neiman Marcus Fall 2014 Media Preview. One of the things I love about fashion is the constant evolution from season to season and year to year. With hints of romanticism, nods to Art Nouveau and the richness of furs – Fall 2014 is something to be excited about. Take advantage of the shape shifting that the fall season allows.

Ever heard the saying, “more is more and less is a bore?” This was definitely showcased as Neiman’s embraced layering of mixed prints, fabrics and more. Ladies and gents…don’t be afraid to wear it all at once!

Midi skirts (hems that fall beneath the knee and above the ankle) add class to fall with their longer lengths. Pair with chic booties ALL YEAR ROUND. Take note of the textured knits as well which bring versatility to your look.

Much of the womenswear trends were echoed in menswear. Lots of mixed media and lavish silhouettes.

It’s hard to see in this photo but the model is actually wearing sneakers – a little urban influence for you.

More somber hues of gray are the must-have colors of the season. It’s basically the new black. I have to say I am thrilled about this as I’ve had a long time obsession with this color. Practically my entire house is gray!

Bundle up with statement furs and shearlings in your outerwear. Seeing these looks made me wish that a cold front was on the near horizon!

Subtle applications of embellishments such as lace bring you style-in-spades – time to throw out minimalism.

Clutches are the bag of the season and will work for you day or night.

A great example of an all-year bootie with cut-outs that are perfect for Texas heat.

Last year it was all about Bordeaux, this year it’s all about green. Look for rich jewel tones, emerald, olive and kelly greens. Also take note of the metallics and shine that you see in this photo and the following. Every girl loves to sparkle!

Love this pairing of the emerald green with leopard print.

Sophisticated fashion statements with off the shoulder coats and my eye was immediately drawn to the green bag!

I also noticed the variety of trouser fabrics. Men are not limited anymore but instead can utilize variation and texture.
