Happy birthday, Daddy Russ! I’ve been asking Daddy Russ for weeks now what he wanted to do for his birthday but, like every guy, he kept saying he’s just not in to his birthday.

Of course I’m not going to let his birthday go by unnoticed, so yesterday I made his favorite cake and a few appetizers. I set up everything on the deck so we could enjoy the Spurs basketball game and give him a mini-celebration. Just a little something to say I love you!

Daddy Russ’ favorite – yellow cake with chocolate icing.

I actually made this cake stand. It’s a glass candle stick holder glued to a plate then spray painted ivory.

I thought these old fashion mini-donuts were precious! Don’t you just want to eat like 20 of them?!

I fell in love with these yellow placemats at Target. The white trellis print compliments well with the iron patterns of my patio table.

So not very “guyish,” but I had to add some pretties to the table.

One of my favorite appetizers – homemade guacamole. A friend of mine taught me to use fajita seasoning in it and it makes it delicious!

Chunky salsa served nice and cold.

Luke crashed from all the festivities.

If you’d like to wish Daddy Russ a happy birthday – comment below and I’ll share with him. 🙂

This is my sTORI being written as you read. – Love, Mommy Tori

You know I don’t technically have a recipe. I just do a few avacados, 1 tomato, half onion, a bit of cilantro, lots of lime juice and then fajita seasoning to taste. Hope that helps!
