Give Back With Sustainable Fashion This Mother’s Day

Since becoming a mother I have a new appreciation for Mother’s Day (and all mothers in general). This special holiday is in two weeks and I’ve already started thinking about a special gift for my mother. I wanted something unique but didn’t want to buy her the normal gift. Instead I decided I wanted something that had a deeper meaning and came up with the perfect option. Global Purpose is a company founded as a social enterprise and created to connect purchases and positive change in impactful ways. This purposeful giving company provides education and income opportunities for women and children living in vulnerable communities, including India, Haiti, and Uganda. They had exactly what I was looking for! A stylish gift that not only would give back to my mother but other women and mothers worldwide!

I visited my local HEB where Global Purpose is located in the Blooms department and selected one of their beautiful Freedom Shrugs (design: Stormy Weather). It is light and airy while still stylish. The Freedom Shrugs are a part of Global Purpose’s Village Artisan collection which are all made by women in India.

I paired the shrug with some of the stunning wooden bracelets from their “Made in the Shade” collection. They have them in a variety of colors but I selected the yellow ones that are very versatile.
