If you live in San Antonio then you know we are having an allergy season from hell! The cedar, the pollen, the oak … it’s all been off the chart. The cedar particularly gets me and it never fails at the worst possible time I end up with a sinus infection. Doesn’t the universe know that mamas can’t ever be sick?! We just don’t have time for it! And there is nothing that makes my type-A personality start to grumble like sitting in a doctor’s office. You make an appointment for a specific time and it never fails you sit in a waiting room for FOREVER!
Well ladies, get ready to thank me because I’ve found an amazing service for you AND our families. It’s called Ranger Health and they come straight to you (it’s like a clinic on wheels!) and you get to do your appointment from the comfort of your own home!
Ranger Health has a team of experienced physicians that will come straight to your house (or even your place of employment) to treat a wide variety of health issues including:
- General Illness (colds, viruses, fevers, flu, etc)
- Musculoskeletal (sprains, joint pain, etc)
- Skin (stitches, medical glue, rashes, etc)
- Ear, Nose, Throat (ear infections, strep, Upper Resipratory Infections, allergies, etc)
- Gastrointestinal
- Wellness (physicals and wellness exams)
I recently had Ranger Health come out to my house as I was in need of my flu shot. You can either download their app here or call their main number (1-844-747-8271) to schedule an appointment. They offer same day appointments M-F which is absolutely fabulous! Once you schedule your appointment they will even send you an email with the name of the PA who will be visiting along with a picture. The cost of a visit is $95 (which is a lot less than I normally pay at the urgent care clinic) and they also accept health savings accounts (HSA), and flexible spending accounts (FSA). Many tests such as strep and vaccinations like the flu shot are included in that price but some procedures and medications may incur an additional fee.
One of their Physician Assistants, Tasha, came to my home. She was very friendly and made me feel extremely comfortable with her medical knowledge. I only had to fill out a small form with my information, allergies, current medications, etc for the flu shot.
In addition to adults, they also accept patients starting at 2-years-old. Foster was very curious about what was going on so he got a little check up as well!
And we were done! Short and sweet – EXACTLY how I want my doctor appointments to be!
