Happy birthday! Each year I’ve written you a little note on my blog and each year there is so much I want to say. I always go back through and read all my old posts and look back through pictures tearing up the entire time. Each year I’m astounded at how much you have grown and how much you have changed. Yet there is always a consistency… your beautiful soul that is so filled with love and happiness.

This year is extra special because next week you will be receiving the best birthday present…a BROTHER! I know you are going to be such a good big brother. It’s evident in how you kiss my belly every day and talk to him with such kindness. From the very beginning it was almost as if you already knew him. It was never a surprise to you that he was coming. You were full of assurances that it was a brother (and his name was Rusty).

Do you know that you steal everyone’s heart (just as you stole mine the moment I saw you for the first time)? Sometimes you will do or say something and I’m struck by how you are such a blend of Daddy Russ and I. I think you’ve got the best of us with tons of icing on the top.

Your Daddy and I love you more than waking up in the morning. Forever and ever.
