I’ll admit – I’m normally your big, expensive brand kind of girl when it comes to my skincare and beauty products. So when a friend introduced me to a company called, Beautycounter, I was a bit skeptic. There are just so many direct sale beauty companies nowadays that it’s a bit overwhelming. However, I am a major beauty-aholic and she caught my attention when she started telling me how they were non-toxic and environmentally-friendly beauty products. For a while now I have been becoming increasingly concerned about the ingredients in beauty products. We put these ingredients on our face and bodies every day – many times not even being able to pronounce the ingredients. But Beautycounter’s products have the strictest ingredient selection in the industry while still creating a high performing product.

Beautycounter

I tried out a large amount of their product line including: Gentle Exfoliator, AM and PM Hydrating Creams, Cleanser, Eye Cream, Face Oils, Body Wash, Body Lotion, Body Oil, Sunscreen, Rosewater, Lip Sheers, Lip Gloss and Kid’s Shampoo and Body Wash. To view these products click here.

Let’s start with the AM and PM hydrating creams. You can use these every day and I highly recommend it. Moisturizing your skin is so important towards preventing aging and many people forget to do this every day. I found both creams to be very light (not leaving my skin oily) and also unscented. They are a mix of organic coconut oil, safflower oil and aloe, and pure botanicals like antioxidant-rich açai berry, lavender, and pomegranate extracts. An interesting note about the PM formula: Every Night PM Hydrating Cream gets its moisturizing power from organic coconut oil instead of mineral oil, which inhibits your body’s ability to absorb Vitamin D.

Environmentally-Friendly Beauty Products

Now I honestly have to be very careful with exfoliators. Some of them are very rough on my face and leave it irritated. This product wasn’t like that at all but very gentle and truly left my skin feeling polished. It’s made with non-abrasive jojoba beads and organic coconut oil.

This is a cream cleanser that was very refreshing and did a great job removing my makeup. It includes organic coconut oil and witch hazel which adds a toning effect while aloe hydrates.

I’m obsessed with eye creams because many times that’s where we start showing our age first. I recommend also applying this every night.

beautycounter oils

Many women aren’t quite sure what to do with face oils but they can be very useful when properly applied and nourish your face with antioxidants and vitamins. You can apply them directly on your face or even add a drop to your foundation.

Environmentally-Friendly Beauty Products

I loved the smell of this body wash! It left my skin feeling clean and moisturized. I have to admit one of the things I’m the worst at is putting lotion on my body. I usually can’t stand the feel and makes me feel like I’m sticking to my clothes all day. But this body lotion wasn’t like that at all – it was very lightweight.

Non-toxic beauty products

This was another oil that I loved that you can put all over your body and it smells lovely!

Non-toxic beauty products

I make sure to wear sunscreen every day and really liked this one. It didn’t streak at all! Unfortunately, its out of stock but they should have it back in the next couple of weeks.

Environmentally-friendly makeup

I’m a HUGE rosewater lover and really adored this product! I ALWAYS have a bottle in my purse. It’s just so hot in Texas. Whip this out and refresh your face instantly. You can also spritz a bit on your pillow too for a gentle sleep!

Now let’s talk about the icing….aka. lip sheers! The best part is these are so incredibly moisturizing which I really need because my lips get chapped easily. They also have a fantastic color selection!

Environmentally-friendly makeup

Their lip shine is the perfect finishing touch to add on top!

non-toxic kids shampoo

And they haven’t forgotten the kids either! It’s even MORE important to me to know what is going on my children’s skin and you can feel safe with these two products.

I think you can probably tell that I really loved getting to know this brand and am very excited to share it with you! And now we have a giveaway for you to experience it as well!

It’s the shade in Twig that I’d be most excited about trying out- it seems like it would be a flattering brownish nude shade for me given my olive skin with warm undertones!

It’s a toss up between Twig and Coral… so let’s go with Twig! When in doubt go neutral 🙂

I would love either petal or rose — I’m trying to get into lip color, but need to start with easy-to-wear shades.
