Luke’s Looks: Red Jeans

This poor little guy was walking around with a bit of a fat lip this past weekend. On Friday he stood up on an ice chest right next to our granite island and I had just told him to stop standing on it when he slipped off and smashed his mouth in to the granite. Immediately blood gushed everywhere and I started freaking out that he might have lost a tooth. Daddy Russ was out of town so I called our sweet neighbors whose husband is a fire fighter and paramedic. They immediately ran up the street and got Luke all fixed up. We took pictures of his lip and texted them to my awesome pediatrician, Dr. Sarah Bourland, who called me directly to make sure he was OK and talk me through whether he needed stitches or not. Luckily, no stitches!

It was so terrifying. It was the first time he’d really gotten hurt so I had to do everything to hold it together and not start bawling right along with him. I think it might hurt moms even more than kids when they get hurt!
