Luke and I had the COOLEST time the other day at SeaWorld Aquatica’s Stringray Encounter! I have wanted to do a SeaWorld animal encounter my whole life so I was beyond excited to have the opportunity to experience one with Luke and the other SeaWorld Wildside bloggers! It is a fantastic activity to do with family and children and very unforgettable!
When you arrive they give you a bit of a safety talk to protect the stingrays from harm. Some things that they highlight are how to walk in the water (ie. slide your feet) and how to feed them. They actually eat small fish. You hold the fish like an ice cream cone and the ray glides over your hand and sucks it up.
Luke was mesmerized and was eager to get in the water!
He wasn’t scared at all when we walked in but as the stingrays began touching him he got a little startled and wanted to be held. Once he got used to them he loved to pet them and drop the fishes into the water for them.
They are really friendly and brush up against your feet and legs looking for food. They feel really rubbery!
Most of the stingrays at Aquatica are Cownose stingrays.
We plan to spend lots of time at SeaWorld’s waterpark, Aquatica! There is so much to do including slides, wave pool, beach, toddler area and more!

I love your photographs. Thanks for sharing!
Sara Phillips was actually kind enough to take them while we were doing the encounter! Blogger buddies are the best!
SO much fun!! I’d definitely recommend this encounter – and at only $20 a person, it’s pretty reasonable.
I LOVE the black & white stingray photo!
You were the best at taking photos! Couldn’t have had this post without you!
Gorgeous photos. Sara’s a pro! 😉
My son and I had a blast doing this interaction last year. I can’t wait to do it again and take my daughter this time.
