One night this weekend I was lying with Luke in his bed trying to get him to go to sleep. He’d gotten really quiet and was snuggling on my shoulder. I thought he’d be dozing off any minute. But then quietly he said, “Mommy, I love you so much.” Not a loud exclamation. Just a soft message of love. It was so perfect and I wrapped that little boy even tighter in my arms.
I couldn’t help but think that one day that little boy would be too big for cuddling with his mommy and too “cool” to give me hugs and kisses. Everyone tells you how fast they grow up but you really don’t understand how fast it truly is until you become a mom. For now, I’m cherishing every moment of my little man.
