My Style: Fall Colors

With all the whirl of life going on around us it’s really easy to forget who we are. We’re not just mothers changing diapers, wiping tears and snotty noses and playing pretend. We’re not just working women trying to succeed in our professional lives while juggling housework, laundry and bills. We’re not just taxi cabs running the kids to and from sport practices and rushing home to cook dinner.

We are still young girls at heart who like to dance when no one is watching and sing when no one is listening. We like to swipe on some red lipstick, slip in to a pair of heels and feel beautiful for an evening. Maybe even wear a pair of Spanx and convince ourselves that the post-baby tummy can’t be seen. We still like to gab with our girlfriends over a glass of wine like when we were in college. We still like to read a good book and imagine what it would be like to be the characters in them. We still like to dream about who we want to be and where we want to go.

So stop and take a moment to think about who that girl is in the mirror looking back at you. Don’t get lost in the whirl.

I love the colors of fall. Doesn’t everybody? All the warm, rich tones are just so inviting. This was the perfect outfit to capture all the burgundies, browns, golds, creams and oranges going on around me.

This beautiful scarf really pulled the entire outfit together. Stay tuned – you’re going to see this scarf again soon!

I adore the accessories, of course! Who wouldn’t love a gold bag! And these boots were one of the best gifts Daddy Russ ever gave me. He brought them all the way back from Italy!

How gorgeous is the color of these jeans?! I love the way they fit too – it’s so hard to find a good pair of jeans!
