This past week I was honored to be asked to attend America’s Sunday Supper, a very special event hosted by Points of Light and Target. It was an incredibly empowering event…I left wanting to go out in to the world and make a difference!
Points of Light is an independent, non-partisan, non-profit organization that encourages and empowers the spirit of service. In partnership with Target they created America’s Sunday Supper which strives to bring people together in service, dialogue and civic engagement while sharing a meal. The event in San Antonio was hosted at the San Antonio Art Museum and featured distinguished guests such as: Gloria Estefan, Mayor of San Antonio, Julian Castro, Washington Post Company Chairman and CEO, Donald Graham and Univision President, Cesar Conde.
The event began with a fun cocktail hour where everyone mingled and enjoyed some yummy appetizers. This was followed by an inspiring panel that discussed the most important issue of our time…our children. I was really drawn to how everyone transcended across political lines in order to tackle the tough problems going on in our communities.

Following the panel all attendees joined together for dinner outdoors. It was a truly memorable evening as we all sat underneath the stars, next to the river with strands of colorful carnations dangling over us. We received a card with a variety of questions that stimulated the conversations as we all put our heads together to discover solutions to better our society.

As I was driving home I just kept thinking how lucky I was to have had the opportunity to attend such a powerful event and meet so many brilliant minds that are in this awesome city! I was truly impressed and inspired with what Target is doing to improve our nation – particularly through their dedication to our children.
This is my sTORI being written as you read. – Love, Mommy Tori
Tori, do you remember some of the discussion questions? Looks like a beautiful evening for an important purpose.
