A Day of Fun

Just a quick note that I wrote this blog post on Easter Sunday.

I have to admit I’m so tired I can barely keep my eyes open. The last of our family just left. Daddy Russ is taking a nap. Luke is banging some of his blocks together at my feet in the living room. My house looks like a giant Easter basket blew up! I can hear the wind picking up outside making a gusting noise down our fireplace. I glance out the window and can see the shadow of looming thunderheads. Looks like we are about to get a storm. We had everyone over to our house today to celebrate Easter. It was a beautiful day full of family, Easter egg hunting, tons of food and laughter. We are so blessed that Daddy Russ and I’s families are both so close so that we can all celebrate together.

If I’m honest, while it was a very cheerful day I was feeling pretty crummy. I’ve still got this never ending sinus infection and a horrific cough to go with it. Half way through the day I finally gave in and took some cough medicine which I really dislike because it makes me feel like I’m in a fog. I considered for several days canceling but I really wanted Luke and the rest of the family to have a special day. Even though I wasn’t feeling my best I’m still so glad to have gotten to share such a wonderful day with everyone!

At one time during the day I thought back to last year’s Easter and remembered that my great grandmother was there. She passed away at the end of 2012 and I couldn’t help but miss her this year. I’m so glad she got to spend Easter with Luke last year.
