I love weddings! I mean…I really LOVE weddings! They are always full of love, celebratory fun, smiling faces, joyful music and more. This past weekend Daddy Russ and I along with a group of  our San Antonio friends all went CAJUN! In other words, we all went to back woods Louisiana for a fun weekend without the kids and to celebrate the nuptials of our friends, Shawn and Gabrielle! By the way…a BIG CONGRATULATIONS to the happy couple!!

One of our dear friends is a pilot and they were so kind and invited us on their plane! It was fantastic! This is me and my sweet, beautiful friend, Jennifer!

Here’s our group of San Antonio ladies! After the rehearsal dinner we went to this really fun tavern! It was pretty much a dive but we met lots of interesting people and had a blast!

On Saturday, Daddy Russ and I and another couple went driving through the beautiful national parks of Louisiana. We ended up in the cutest little town called Natchitoches. Right when we were driving in I said, “I feel like I’m in the movie Steel Magnolias.” Little did I know it WAS the actual town that Steel Magnolias was filmed in!!

The center of town was along this beautiful river and had all kinds of fun shops and restaurants.

We ate at this fun Cajun/seafood restaurant and of course I enjoyed a good Louisiana-style Bloody Mary.

My statement rings while eating! The one on the left is from Target and the one on the right Daddy Russ gave me for our five-year anniversary.

Aren’t these hanging baskets incredible!!??

What would the oldest town in Louisiana be without horse-drawn carriages?

Look at these cobblestone roads and beautiful old buildings on the right.

On the way home we crossed the Red River. Can you believe how it just looks like a mirror?

Most of the drive was full of enchanting woods but there were occasional fields.

We returned back from Natchitoches and it was time to get ready for the wedding! Here are all the ladies dolled up and ready to go! I’m wearing a beautiful winter white sheath dress from White House Black Market and a fascinator from Saks Fifth Avenue.

We had a wonderful time at the wedding and I have to say I danced my knee-high boots off!! It was such a great weekend with old and new friends! I need someone to hurry up and host another wedding!
