Today was Luke’s first “Meet the Teacher!” He officially starts Mother’s Day Out next week. Let’s just say we didn’t make the greatest impression today. Luke was ready for a nap and was not a happy camper. But at least we looked cute!

Fall is right around the corner and booties are a must this season. It’s still about 120 degrees in Texas so I paired mine with some tailored shorts. My little ankle booties are from DSW Shoes.

A black blazer is also a staple for everyone’s closet. Mine is from Target and I love the pin stripe lining that shows when you roll the sleeves up.

I actually designed this little gray v-neck shirt. I made it at Lallapalooza.

Layer some long silver necklaces and your good to go! I also found this ring at a local small-town fair in Texas. I thought all the colors were fun!

I just pulled my hair to the side and twisted it loosely at the bottom.

Mommy and Toddler Luke. Luke is wearing a Baby Gap knit shirt and some cargo shorts from a local resale shop.

Always underfoot.

Love the bright red socks with kicks from Target.

You guys are cute! I have black booties but have yet to wear them out without pants. Lame I know but they totally stunt my already-short legs, so no help there. But I love them for jeans when you want to wear covered shoes without having to wear a whole boot.

I love booties with jeans! You should totally try them with shorts, skirt or a dress though! Ankle booties with a nice heel can really lengthen legs. I’m actually just 5’3″. OK, OK – I fibbed a little – I’m ALMOST 5’3″. hehe
