Heaven for a child is definitely a candy confectionery! While visiting the Strand in downtown Galveston we stumbled upon La King’s Confectionery, a candy store that takes you back to the 1920s. If you have a sweet tooth then you will love this post!
The store has candy everywhere, a full ice cream parlor, handmade salt water taffy and tons more yumminess!
Brightly painted doors just begging you to come in!
La King’s is located in the historic Strand district of Galveston. It’s located downtown and has a wide variety of shops and restaurants.
They serve “Purity” ice cream which is Texas’ first ice cream manufacturer, founded in 1889 on Galveston Island.
They even make their own salt water taffy. This employee was putting on quite a show and throwing freshly pulled taffy to watching children.
I love old-fashioned straws and use them at parties all the time.
The confectionery also boasts having a master candy maker that makes over 50 candies including: peanut and peco brittle, divinity, pecan pralines, hand-dipped chocolates, and much more on antique equipment.
This is my sTORI being written as you read. – Love, Mommy Tori
