I’m from a farm and cattle ranch family in south Texas so I’ve driven lots of back roads. I love back road Texas because you truly never know what you might find. One of my favorite things is that it is littered with all kinds of vintage awesomeness.

During a recent back road drive of mine I caught some cool vintage finds on camera. Give me a little bit of rust and patina and I’m in heaven!

There are cool old cars all over the place in all colors! Here’s one in Sisterdale, Texas.

There are so many small towns in Texas, many of which are getting smaller as people move to larger cities. In those towns you can find abandoned gas stations like this. I love the coloring!

Do you think anyone would notice if one of these went missing? I totally want to find it a home in my backyard!

I found the coolest beer joint during my drive called Hillbillyz which advertises being “in the middle of somewhere, close to nowhere.” I just pulled over on the side of the road to grab some pictures of their car and ended up being welcomed by the owner. They hadn’t opened for the day yet so they just gave me a big ol’ Texas welcome and showed me around. I totally want a fence covered in hub caps now!

I think the owner loves vintage items even more than I do because he had the coolest collection decorating the place. They had all types of different chairs – hardly any matched (which I totally loved).

This is an old laundry press.

Ok – I totally NEED a turquoise toilet!

And of course you’ll find a few outhouses in back road Texas!

Hillbillyz is a great place to get some Texas eats and live music. To learn more about Hillybillyz click here.

Very welcome! I love vintage photo sessions. I’m not sure where you are located but the New Braunfels area has some cool old farm houses.

I live here in San Antonio. Growing up in a small country town in south I miss the farmhouses and everything that came with it. Driving home along hwy 181 I see lots of old dilapidated houses that give it the vintage feel to that I would love to have some of my photos taken there. I’ll have to check in New Braunfels, thanks.

You could probably just pull up along some of your favorite old houses and just jump out and snap some!
