Remember when you were little and your favorite part of opening a new box of cereal was the goodies you would find inside? Well those days are back and even better! Now when you open a box of Cheerios you get breakfast AND a book!

Cheerios is celebrating their 10-year anniversary of its Spoonfuls of Stories program, which encourages literacy across the US. In celebration, Cheerios is holding “Breakfast & A Book” reading events and one is being held in San Antonio!

Date: Saturday, April 14, 2012

Time: 10:00 am

Address: H-E-B (in-store literacy center) – 6818 South Zarzamora, San Antonio, TX 78211

Austin award-winning author, Liz Garton Scanlon, will read a selection of in-pack titles to a group of children and encourage donations to First Book, a children’s literacy non-profit. Cheerios will also donate 5,000 books to the San Antonio Food Bank – a Feeding America affiliate. Additionally, each child will take home four new books.
