Would you like to share the joy of reading with others in your community? If so, there are many like you across the country who are joining in the “Little Free Library” project.

About two years ago, Todd Bol founded “Little Free Library” when he wanted to honor his mother, a former teacher, who passed away several years ago. Little Free Library builds and assists people in building miniature libraries filled with books. These miniature libraries are popping up outside people’s homes, in stores, among other public locations. Basically the concept is, “Take a Book, Leave a Book.” At www.littlefreelibrary.org you can find plans and tips for building your own mini library, a map of where to find libraries or even purchase your own library for as low as $100.

Here are some examples of some adorable Little Free Libraries. To learn more visit www.littlefreelibrary.org.

There are none in San Antonio either. I’ve been thinking about talking to our Home Owners Association to see about putting one up in the neighborhood.
