Do you ever just stop and think, “Hey – everything is pretty good right now!” I’ve kind of been feeling that way lately but am almost a little scared to actually say it out loud. Some how saying it out loud makes me look over my shoulder for something bad to happen. That’s kind of sad actually! But things have been good lately. Work is good and I really love my clients. Fashion Week SA is really flourishing and it has been such a joy to be on the team. Luke and Daddy Russ are my besties and we are such an awesome trio. Just good. And I like good! Here’s a look at my Instagram lately so you can see all this goodness!

Mommy Failures and Triumphs

Thursday, August 28, 2014

The final days of summer are upon us and we’ve been trying to soak in as much as we can. Sometimes the hardest part for me about being a working mother is just putting down my computer. But whenever I do to make trips down to the pool with little man I end up being so grateful that I have a work life that enables me to do exactly that.

I never realized that motherhood would entail some many triumphs as well as failures. One of the areas that I constantly feel that I failed at is Luke’s eating habits. I made every single bit of baby food that went in to his mouth but now this child is the most picky eater. But I’m excited to share with you one of my little secrets today…. Fave Fruit & Vegetable Juice!

When Luke started getting picky – particularly about vegetables – I started looking for other options for getting healthy veggies in his body. A friend of mine introduced me to Fave and I was so excited to find it at my local HEB. The best part about the juice is it has 3 full servings of vegetables!

It also has no preservatives, artificial sweeteners or high-fructose corn syrup. It’s also low sodium and has antioxidants and Vitamins A and C.

Luke likes all of the flavors but by far his favorite is the Pomegranate, Blueberry, Goji – he calls it his “Blue Juice!”

As you can see by the pictures he truly LOVES it and I’m so grateful for it! I’m so glad to be giving you a chance to win some Fave juice for your little one!

SeaWorld Game Center

Tuesday, August 26, 2014

Daddy Russ was recently on a business trip for over a week so it was just me and the little guy. I was kind of nervous about the trip because Luke has been in Terrible Three mode lately but I ended up really loving our special mommy and son time together. My time with him was filled with so many special moments. It’s this age when you can do no wrong in their eyes and they just love you unconditionally that you want to freeze frame. Sooner than I will know he’ll be a teenager that doesn’t want to give his mom a hug.

One of the activities we did was to head to SeaWorld for a Game Center play date! SeaWorld is definitely Luke’s favorite place on Earth right now. We’ve been TONS of times but it was fun to experience something new! Did you know that SeaWorld has an indoor and outdoor game center?!

This is their indoor arcade which is a great spot to cool off in. It’s at the very back of the park near the Great White roller coaster. Luke loves to play Skee-Ball but still can’t get the balls to go all the way up the ramp. Which means I end up chasing balls everywhere.

This rubber duck game is perfect for the younger ones! And every one wins a prize!

Luke might have been a bit of a cheater on this one!

Tons of arcade games, air hockey and much more!

We also had visits from three Seaworld Animal Ambassadors. This is Bud the Boa Constrictor.

My favorite SeaWorld Animal Ambassador, Star, an American Bald Eagle! She’s still young – she’ll eventually look like the Bald Eagle we are all familiar with.

A very chatty Kookaburra!

Had to give my favorite Cockatoo, Susie, some kisses! Coolest bird ever! She LOVES attention!
