How To Organize Your Pantry With The NEAT Method

Ok lovelies… don’t judge! I’m slightly embarrassed about these pictures! Holy SCARY PANTRY, right?! As you can see I was completely overwhelmed by my pantry. It was a total wreck and I didn’t know what to do. And then the NEAT Method San Antonio representative, April Chalk, came to the rescue! I was so excited to partner with April and she and her team were so wonderful to work with.

First they pulled everything out of the closet and began to inventory and categorize. They checked expiration dates to see if anything needed to be disposed and also gave the entire pantry a good scrubbing (it sure needed it). They also asked me a variety of questions so they could personalize how my pantry was organized based on my needs. For example, I let them know which items we use daily and which aren’t used as often.

Once everything was cleaned and categorized they made a list of the type of containers they were going to need and how many of each and off to The Container Store they went.

Following their visit to The Container Store they began to put everything in to their new containers and organize back in to the pantry. They created a fantastic system for me where they took into account the items I needed regularly as well as things I wanted the kids to be able to access (or not access).

As you can see the top shelf is my baking items (DEFINITELY don’t want Foster getting into those and throwing flour all around my house). Then from there we move to breakfast items and our toaster oven that we use regularly right at eye level for me. Continuing down is the kids snack bins so they can get something out themselves and additional salty/sweet snacks below that. And finally some chic, large wooden bins for storage of items such as ziplocs, foil, etc. I also like how these don’t show everything in them to keep it looking less cluttered.

On the opposite site you can see how they placed drink items like my teas and our protein powders up high with cans and seasonings below that. I love the little tiered can shelf so you can easily see what you have in stock.

In the center are two lazy susan’s with more of our fitness powders and another one below with more cooking supplies. Everything is also air tight which is important to keep food fresh (but also to keep out things like ants).
