It’s the most wonderful time of the year! I’ve always been a big fan of Christmas time but since having children it’s gotten even more special. I love that I can be goofy and blare out Christmas carols while driving in the car and get out the decorations early and do it all with two little buddies by my side. It’s my perfect excuse!

One of our favorite things to do to kick off the season is visit the San Antonio Zoo Lights celebration. It runs from November 18 – December 31 and is so worth the trip! And good news for Zoo Members… it’s INCLUDED with your membership this year!

I recommend getting there right before the sun sets. Grab some hot cocoa and begin strolling through the zoo which has been covered in Christmas lights, lighting displays, “snow” makers and so much more.

They also have a super cool “Lakeside Lightshow” that utilizes Pixel technology and a custom sound track composed of Dubstep, EDM, and hip hop. It was a fave of my boys and they both seriously boogied down.

There is also tons of special activities including: camel rides, ice skating, a giant snow globe to take pictures in, Holiday Express train ride, as well as game booths.

Hungry? They’ve got you covered with the NEW Mrs. Claus Diner! Available select dates November 18 – December 31 at 5:00 p.m., Mrs. Claus invites you join her for story time and a delicious holiday feast at their Riverview Restaurant. We were able to try the delicious menu that included chicken fried chicken or carved sirloin roast, herb butter mashed potatoes, Texas style green beans, sweet potatoes and a dinner roll. Afterwards, thes kids get to decorate a cookie as well! If you enjoy dinner with Mrs. Claus you also receive a complimentary family photo with Santa. To purchase tickets click here.

I am a member. Are the activities (camel ride, ice skating, hot cocoa) an additional fee?
