If you haven’t been to the San Antonio Zoo recently you need to get over there! I can’t compliment the new team at the zoo enough. It has been such a joy to watch them really take our zoo to the next level (from branding, to new enclosures, new animals to new experiences for guests). It’s like the zoo has gotten a breath of fresh air and mommies like myself can’t say THANK YOU enough!
As you, know the zoo is one of my favorite places to take the boys and recently while my family was in town I thought it would be a great opportunity my parents, my sister and my nephew and niece to head on out! We had the opportunity to visit the media opening of the San Antonio Zoo’s new Beastly Breakfast as well as enjoy our first Jungle Boogie Nights!
I took tons of pictures and want to tell you all about these two fantastic experiences because you truly need to try them!
The Zoo recently launched their “Beastly Breakfast” experiences where you can select to have breakfast with the giraffes or the hippos! During the experience you get to enjoy an all-you-can-eat breakfast which includes eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, a yogurt bar, an assortment of pastries, and refreshments. Additionally, at the giraffes you get to feed them and for the hippos you receive a presentation by their animal care specialist.
I was actually surprised how good the food was! The yogurt was a personal favorite of mine and the kids couldn’t get enough of the pancakes.
As you can tell we had breakfast with the giraffes! The whole family got to feed them and it was so much fun. Holy moly are their tongues long!
Beastly Breakfasts are an awesome addition to your zoo visit and cost $24.99 for adults and $19.99 for kids (3-years-old and over). Children under 2-years-old are free.
Following the Beastly Breakfast we headed over for Jungle Boogie Nights! We had such a blast at this event! Jungle Boogie Nights is every Friday until September 1st from 6-9pm. The cost is $9/person and there is a band, food trucks, games, happy hour specials and so much more! As you can see above, the kids had too much fun playing a HUGE Jenga game and dancing to the band.
It was such a special evening with my family and we had so much fun watching the kids have a great time together. Again, I can’t tell you enough to be sure to visit and support our local zoo! The more we support them the better they will be able to make our zoo!
