When you are a #boymom you get used to bugs pretty quickly. Well…. TRY to get used to bugs. The San Antonio Zoo recently launched BUG Mania! a new exhibit across the entire zoo featuring larger-than-life bugs and I had to take the boys out. Let me tell you… they thought it was the coolest thing EVER (while I looked like the below pretty much throughout the entire zoo)!
The event is open now through September 3rd. You get to enjoy the normal zoo exhibits and then spread throughout the zoo are humongous animatronic spiders, scorpions, butterflies, lady bugs and much more! I loved how there were little reading guides as well so the kids could be educated on the insect.
I was so surprised that Luke, who is now 6-years-old, asked me over and over to read the education signs on the bugs. It was neat to see him so interested.
The giant tarantula gave me the heebie-jeebies but I loved the ladybugs below that raised their wings.
Foster usually gets bored in his stroller but he was completely mesmerized. He kept pointing and going, “Mommy! Mommy!”
This was my particular favorite! Look at those beautiful wings! And then they had an education desk set up where the kids could see a giant real-life moth!
Again with the face Tori!!!!!!
And in addition to all these super cool bugs there is also our favorite normal zoo exhibits!
The San Antonio Zoo Bug Mania is the perfect outing this summer! I recommend grabbing a Fun Day ticket here for $19.99 which includes one-day admission, train ride, carousel ride and entry into Butterfly House. To learn more about Bug Mania click here.

This looks like so much fun at the San Antonio Zoo. Maybe PawPaw & Meego can go with the boys one day.
