Baby showers have always been special to me. There is nothing like celebrating a new life about to come in to this world. And like all parties that I do, I like to go ALL OUT! Dr. Smith’s recently gave me the opportunity to design the ultimate sTORIbook baby shower and I pretty much did a little squeal! I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to do and I knew who I needed to call. So I picked up the phone and called my fab friend, Amanda Raba Gentis, from Arg Photographs who also happens to be a party stylist extraordinaire. She’s my favorite person to collaborate with on projects like this and she always gets my visions (and then takes them to an entirely new level).

Blooming Floral Baby Shower

My life is filled with boys so I wanted to do something ultra girly – while still chic for my lovely sTORIbook reader. My Mind’s Eye had a stunning Botanical Collection that immediately caught my eye. I was drawn to the gorgeous florals, blush tones mixed with the chic black and white. They have the best paper goods for parties and make it so easy (which is awesome because I don’t have near as much time to plan parties as I used to).

We hung everything over a too cool moss backdrop from Pop Up Parties  that really brought everything together.

We decided to do a simple table that incorporated the same color palette. Some sparkling pink lemonade and pink plastic glasses carried our blush theme throughout to welcome the baby girl!

macaroon cheesecake

Don’t feel like you have to go homemade with everything. We customized a pre-made cheese cake and then added some macaroons on top to give it a special touch. I always recommend looking around your house for potential decor accessories. You never know what you might already have!

Now let’s talk about my go-to baby shower gifts. Dr. Smith’s Diaper Rash Ointment has been a part of my entire life as a mother. Dr. Smith’s is one of the few brands that I have trusted on my babies and now recommend it to all mothers. There is not a single expectant mother that I know that doesn’t get gifted Dr. Smith’s from me.

They offer a creamy blend option with premium ingredients proven to deliver gentle and effective relief for even the most severe diaper rash. They have a traditional cream in a tube as well as jar option. In addition to these two they also have my favorite, a diaper rash SPRAY! It offers a completely touch-free application and it’s the only aerosol zinc oxide spray available anywhere. Seriously… genius!

I always gift mine in a pretty gift box with a simple bow. The mom can even use the box for future storage!

We carried the black and white motif to the ground with a faux zebra rug that I just adored! And, of course, my outfit had to match the theme! P.S. You can shop it above or below!

For little favors we wrapped some additional macaroons in these mini boxes with some pretty rose gold tape strips. I mean… how easy is that?!

And don’t forget a precious banner with the name of the upcoming bundle of joy!

This seriously was the baby shower of my dreams! I’m sad that my “baby years” are over but I’ve been so blessed to have Dr. Smith’s be a part of it. I don’t just mean as them being the most amazing diaper ointment on the planet. I also mean as my friends. I’ve had the honor to get to know the people behind the brand and have the opportunity to work with them over and over. That’s what makes them so special. They care about the families they serve and work with. Dr. Smiths… thank you for taking care of both my boys and for being a part of our lives as well as being a part of The sTORIbook.
