Drum roll please….. It’s the FIRST EVER sTORIbook Fiesta Medal!!!!!!!!! I can’t have enough exclamation marks because I’m just so darn excited! Since moving to San Antonio I have to say… I’m in love with this city. I wish I could explain how this HUGE city still feels like a small town packed with vibrancy, culture and fun. It is a wonderful place to raise a family and it’s getting better every day!

At first when I moved to San Antonio I didn’t understand Fiesta at all. Why were these people running around in flower crowns, draped in Fiesta medals, attending parades and basically partying for two solid weeks?! And then one day it clicked. I UNDERSTOOD Fiesta. It’s not just about remembering the heroes of the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto. It’s about celebrating who WE are and WHAT San Antonio is all about. It’s about celebrating our history and future. It’s about raising money to benefit OUR CITY and the organizations that do so much for the less fortunate that live here. It is a tradition that can’t be explained – but once you experience it – you feel it in your soul.

I hope you all love my first medal! Of course, we were inspired by the glam of fashion and I had to make sure PINK was sprinkled throughout!

I completely agree with you. I’m not a native San Antonian and didn’t understand Fiesta at all. I thought everything was ridiculously overpriced. I mean, really…. why would I want to spend $5+ on one Tyson chicken fillet that has deep fried twice when I can go to HEB and get a whole bag for that price, and on a stick no less.

But then it clicked for me THIS YEAR. I had my awakening. This city has given me so much. It has opened up so many doors for me and given more opportunities than I could imagine. So this year, I want to celebrate San Antonio and all it has done for me. For the first year ever, I’m actually putting on my flower crown with pride and understanding the $5 chicken on a stick (lol). I want to celebrate this city and gosh darnit, I’m gonna enjoy Fiesta because I understand it now. Happy Fiesta, Tori!

I love the pink, the heels, and reading all about the holiday.

My favorite part of Fiesta is definitely the unveiling and collection of fiesta medals, and the beautiful parades and floats!
