Decorating for Halloween is so hit or miss, don’t you think? Why are my only choices cheesy, gory or just plain icky? I like whimsical Halloween – but like any thing I decorate my house with, I also want it to mesh well with our style. So I challenged myself to create some Halloween festiveness on our entry table in my favorite color palette – black, white and gold!
Layers, texture and some sparkle help keep the interest – and my “Creepin It Real” banner adds some punny humor. Always a sucker for a solid sans serif, I couldn’t resist the light up “Trick or Treat” marquee.
I think that every Halloween house needs some black birds and ravens and I was thrilled to find these in my local At Home.
One of my favorite finds was this black glittered haunted house under it’s own glass cloche. Set on top of a cake stand layered with spooky gauze it reminds me of a haunted house on a hill.
It lights up and the house lights flicker eerily.
These cheese cloth ghost lights are the cutest – and I love the glow they add at night!
This sparkly black bat wreath would be equally at home on my front door – but I love the way it pops on the white wall. Those little white bat eyes almost seem to glow at night!
A last minute addition to my cart – what is Halloween without a pumpkin? Instead of orange – I went for this white pumpkin with big black spiders! A chic alternative to our favorite seasonal gourd.
