Cowboy boots are essentials here in Texas but that doesn’t mean that everyone outside of this state shouldn’t own a pair too. Cowboy boots have been very on-trend lately and there are so many stylish choices, particularly from companies like Durango. Rodeo season is coming up quickly so why not ask for a pair of boots for Christmas?! I also have fun with my rodeo outfits and you’d be surprised how many people ask me what they should wear so I thought I should do a post on what to wear to the rodeo!
First, start with the boots! These are my new turquoise babies from Durango that I’m completely enamored with. They are the focus that I built my outfit around. I love their traditional western styling and vibrant color. Additionally, they are incredibly comfortable (another cowboy boot benefit).
Durango offers a wide selection of cowboy boot styles including traditional, slouch, saddle, shoe boots, square toe and more. They also have all kinds of colors and designs.
I recommend pairing every day clothes with your boots vs. going all western wear. For example, I took a faux fur vest and paired it over a silk blouse to dress the look up. This would also be a great outfit for a dinner or one of the more casual rodeo galas.
Select a fitted pair of skinny jeans that you can tuck in to your boot to show it off. Additionally, this ensures that you don’t overdo it on proportions since you have a good amount going on up top with your vest.
I accessorized with a pair of Burberry sunglasses that were in my DITTO sunglasses subscription service. I wrote about it a couple weeks ago but basically you can subscribe to have designer sunglasses sent to you. (Receive a FREE MONTH of Endless Eyewear with the promo code: STORIBOOK).
For my handbag I added in Durango’s White Demi Mondo Crossbody that I actually featured a while back (see post here).
