Have you ever had one of those nights where you didn’t want to unpin your hair, remove your makeup or take off your dress? Last night was like that for me. As I stood in front of my mirror at 1 a.m. my mind went back over the day and night… The laughter of a day spent at Hair & Makeup Couture Salon among friends. The nervousness of walking down a red carpet posing for photographers. The flutter of my heart as they announced San Antonio Fashion Blogger of the Year. And then that 1 a.m. moment of exhilarated exhaustion.
Thank you so much to everyone who voted me as San Antonio Fashion Blogger of the Year in the San Antonio Fashion Awards! It means so much when something that you love and work so hard on is liked by others. It truly was an honor.
I felt like a rocker Cinderella last night and it was all because of Hair & Makeup Couture. I have been going to Yvonne Stonesifer for over a decade! She, not only, keeps me blog and photo shoot ready at all times but she also is a true friend of mine.
I was with them multiple days this week as they prepared me for the San Antonio Fashion Awards (this mommy of two needs a lot more help than she used to)!
Friday started out with me visiting Jennifer Brown, the aesthetician at Hair & Makeup Couture, for my first ever eyelash extensions! I’m so excited to show you these before and afters because they blow me away! I am IN LOVE! Jennifer was absolutely incredible and really took the time to customize my lashes! (Ignore how bad my eye brows were – they got waxed later that day)
Saturday was a full day of fun! Myself and some of my dear friends including fellow nominee Aquila Mendez-Valdez, my photographer Candace Schaddelee and Business Advisor Magazine Publisher, Vanessa Turney all spent the day at the salon getting our hair and makeup done while sipping on champagne!
Everyone ended up with such different looks and I thought all of them were phenomenal! I was going for a Julianne Hough inspired faux-hawk and Callie Boorse, another stylist at Hair & Makeup Couture, re-created it EXACTLY!
Yvonne did airbrush makeup on all of us and I have to say I wish she could do my makeup every day! The airbrush just makes your skin look flawless! She then took it to the next level with contouring, a dark smokey eye and red lip!
I felt like such a rock star and loved the final look in my asymetrical Halston dress. There are so many photos from the day but I really wanted to capture them all in one post! (I know it’s selfie overload but there were just so many great friends)
