Happy Mother’s Day! Yesterday, was Luke’s 4th birthday party and amidst the chaos I took a moment to pause and soak it all in. One of the things that captured my attention was seeing all the amazing mothers that I was surrounded by. My own mother was there, my grandmother and all my friends who joined me in motherhood around the same time. Some were chasing toddlers, others had babies on their hips and then there was me watching Luke run around laughing as I placed my hand on my belly and thought about welcoming our next son in to this world. It was a moment of motherhood perfection and I couldn’t but have a little silent celebration for all of those mothers.
I wanted to do something a little extra special for my mother and I am so grateful to Shari’s Berries for giving me the opportunity to celebrate her with a yummy Mother’s Day dessert table! We enjoyed gourmet chocolate dipped strawberries, dipped pretzels, cheesecakes and truffles that were simply divine!
My mom is an amazing woman and since I’ve become a mother I’ve truly come to appreciate her more every day. My mom has taught me so much throughout life and she continues to guide me. One of the things that I love about my mom is how much she loves her grandchildren. Luke adores his Meego so much. My mom barely goes a week without calling to ask when she can see him. And even though she works so hard at her job she’s always offering to help me whether it’s to just give Daddy Russ and I an evening to ourselves or just have a special day with Luke. That love for her family is something that is inseparable from my mother. I love you mom – thank you for helping me become who I am today.
As for this scrumptious dessert table it was actually inspired by these plates and napkins my mom found. I thought they went perfect with all the yumminess from Shari’s Berries! I found this black and white striped wrapping paper and cut a strip to use as a table runner. I had some cardboard letters that I covered in the paper to tie everything together.
These are the Shari’s Berries cake truffles which practically melted in my mouth! I seriously think we gained a couple pounds eating all this goodness!
I will admit that Luke stole almost all our chocolate covered pretzels! I think he thought they were the best thing he’d ever had in his life!
A platter full of chocolate covered strawberries and mini cheesecakes – serious goodness! The cheesecake package included: 3″ Classic New York Cheesecake Dipped in Dark Chocolate with Milk Chocolate Swizzle, a 3″ Classic New York Cheesecake Dipped in Dark Chocolate with White Chocolate Shaving and a 3″ Chocolate Cheesecake Dipped in Dark Chocolate with Nuts and Marshmallows.
Are you hungry yet? We both had a lovely time gorging ourselves and spending time together! I hope you all have a wonderful Mother’s Day!
