I don’t know about you but I couldn’t live without my HEB. That’s why when I heard a new HEB called “The Market at Stone Oak” was opening only a few minutes from my house I was beyond excited. This new concept is a smaller upscale market at 80,000-square-feet. The store offers large fresh departments that include: an expanded Organics section, a Produce Selling Station/Juice Bar, a Sushi Shop, Dry Aged Beef, a Nut Butter station and a Specialty Cheese shop.

Additionally, one of the most exciting features of the store is it’s Oaks Crossing Bistro & Bar which I was invited to experience and enjoy lunch! Let’s take a peek…

This is the entrance to the restaurant. The pastel blue doors are incredibly inviting and set the tone for the color palette that you will find throughout the restaurant.

Luke and I were joined by my photographer, Candace Schaddelee, and her son, Ezra! As you can tell, the boys made themselves right at home. The restaurant is very family-friendly offering a child’s menu and even play area.

I was really impressed with the stylishly designed restaurant. A bit of a contemporary edge meets Texas with fun pops of colors, wood and metal accents, mix-and-match furniture and large windows allowing the perfect amount of lighting in.

We started with some yummy fried calamari. For some reason, Daddy Russ and I both LOVE calamari. I order it everywhere I go!

Candace ordered the brisket tacos which she said were delicious!

I had the Tacos Al Pastor with pineapple, onions and cilantro – makes your mouth water, right?! I’ve been craving them ever since!

Ezra had some mac-n-cheese which I couldn’t resist stealing a bite of! Cheesy goodness!

I really can’t wait to go back! The food was excellent, the service was more than friendly and it’s perfect for families. Not to mention you can grab some groceries right after! I also loved that all of the waiters tips are donated to local non-profits!

Although this HEB is not located in our area, I’d like to go try it out. So this is Ezra that Luke always talks about! I Love the picture of you and Luke at the entrance where he’s waving. Precious!! Great photography!!!
