Daddy Russ has been on my heart a lot lately. I’ve just been trying to be more thoughtful and conscientious of him. As well as more purposeful with sharing my love and appreciation. It’s very easy to find yourself taking your spouse for granted and I’ve been trying to keep from doing that. This past week I’ve been MIA because we went on a ski vacation together. Every year we celebrate Valentine’s Day in the mountains. It’s kind of perfect for us because it’s pretty much one of our favorite pastimes.
I was so appreciative of the trip because it really gave us a chance to spend some valuable time together. During the time devoted to us I couldn’t help but recognize all the little changes in ourselves since having Luke. We are fundamentally not the same people that we were three years ago. We’ve grown, molded, strengthened and matured. And the same can be said about our marriage. So many times when sitting on a chair lift I couldn’t help but snuggle up next to him and think about where we’ve come from and where we are going. I wouldn’t want anyone else on that chair lift of life with me. He’s my ski buddy, fun companion and life partner.
This is my sTORI being written as you read. – Love, Mommy Tori
Glad to hear you were able to spend some precious time together. Don & I Love you both!
Beautiful words, beautiful pictures! And yes, we do have to reflect on our relationships occasionally as time does make changes we don’t always pick up on.
