As I lifted the lid on the box of ornaments a little voice said, “Ooooh! Pweddy Mommy!” His bright blue eyes lit up as I handed him a shiny star ornament and told him to be gentle. His little hands held it softly like it might break at any minute. He watched me as I began to place ornaments on the tree absorbing each move that I made. Getting the hang of it, he knelt down and on one of the lowest branches and carefully hung his first ornament. He then lifted his face to me and his smile washed over me.
