Hello lovelies!

My mom forwarded me one of her daily emails that she receives from Max Lucado and it really spoke to me. As a mom I’ve always kind of thought of Luke as a blank paper basically waiting for Daddy Russ and I to begin writing. But there have been times when he’d do something or show some sort of quality and I couldn’t help but wonder how much is he learning from us vs. just born with. Well, that’s what this message from Max was about.

“Every child is born with a unique blend of strengths and characteristics. Don’t see your child as a blank slate awaiting your pen, but as a written book awaiting your study.”

The key part being that as parents we need to sit back and study them as well. Discover their strengths, learn what their optimal settings are, what is thrilling to them or gives them delight? All of these are part of the adventure of their sTORI that GOD is writing with them.

“God doesn’t give parents manuscripts to write, but codes to decode. Study your kids while you can. The greatest gift you can give your children is not your riches but to reveal to them their own.”
