One of the things I love about life is you never know where you might meet your next friend.

About two and half years ago I was fully pregnant and had gone to Hobby Lobby to talk to them about framing some old country records. I had this whole vision of doing a vintage country music theme in Luke’s nursery and just needed to pull it all together. When I walked up to the counter I was immediately greeted with a warm smile by a guy who looked like he belonged on the back of a motorcycle! He introduced himself as I began pulling out my records. I could see his eyes light up as he started naming each of the old artists and his love of music was just completely obvious to me. He inquired what I wanted to do with the records and I told him that I wanted to display them in my son’s nursery when he was born. He immediately expressed that he LOVED the idea and we began brainstorming an entire nursery right then and there! For weeks I’d come in when Jerry was working and we’d talk about ideas, he gave me some really cool old concert posters and we just gradually developed a friendship.

Two and a half years later my big teddy bear of a friend, Jerry Clayworth, has end-stage renal failure and is in need of a kidney transplant. He is currently undergoing dialysis treatments three time a week (5 hours per treatment!) and has a HUGE financial hurdle ahead of him as he prepares for a kidney transplant.

So sTORIbook readers if you have even a $1 to spare will you please take a moment to help my sweet friend! And if you don’t have anything to spare that’s ok! Leave a comment on this post for Jerry so we can send him our love, thoughts and prayers!
