It’s official! My little sister is engaged!! When did we become adults? It seems like just yesterday we were playing Barbies and watching Rainbow Brite.

It was the perfect engagement and so much fun to plan. We just got back from vacationing in Red River, NM (seriously one of my favorite ski towns). We have lots of friends up there and my family has owned a condo there for years. When I received a call a couple weeks ago from my sister’s boyfriend, Alex, telling me he was going to propose in Red River and wanted my help to plan the proposal I was absolutely giddy! I contacted a couple friends up there and everyone jumped on board. After many debates on the perfect place to propose, a new friend of mine, Sarah, told us about this breathtaking outdoor chapel located in a small glade on the mountain. It was stunning surrounded by Aspens and pristine snow and we knew it was the perfect place. After much planning and participation from others we managed to surprise my sister, Meagan. I, of course, had my camera on hand and took about a million pictures capturing every second!

Daddy Russ, Alex and one of our ski instructor friends, Chris Yates, went ahead of us to the chapel area. I skied over with my sister, Meagan and our friend Eric. She had no clue what was going on. When we skied up Alex was already in place by himself at the altar. I just love this picture because it captures the nervous moment for him right before proposing.

So funny story for ya…Meagan at first didn’t see the rose petals or Alex standing at the chapel. She actually skied a little past and stopped to talk to Russ and Chris. She asked, “Where’s Alex? What is he doing?! Peeing?!” Ahahaha! Finally she caught on and walked over to him.

She said, “YES!”
