I’m so grateful this evening as I sit here typing my post. A little over a year ago right after having Luke, I took a big plunge and decided to open my own PR, marketing and event company. I also decided to start my blog, The sTORIbook, working overall to build a brand and niche for myself while still trying to be the best mother and wife I could. Needless to say, it was pretty risky. I had a new baby, I was taking a major financial gamble and was seriously questioning, “Can you do this, Tori?” But sitting here right now I truly see how good God has been to me by providing opportunities around each and every corner and continuing to bring amazing people into my life. My consulting company is rocking and my blog has grown in to something that I never thought it would. I still have a long way to go but for tonight…I’m saying thank you. Thank you to God, Daddy Russ, my family, friends and all you awesome sTORIbook readers who support me each and every day!

With all that’s been going on I’ve been going to meeting after meeting. Here’s a look at a little Black on Black look that I wore this past week.
There is pretty much one plain and simple reason that I like wearing black on black – it’s slimming! As many of you mommies know, our bodies change a lot when we have a kiddo. Well, the great thing about black is it can hide all those little trouble areas.
A nicely cut pair of black slacks are a staple to every woman’s wardrobe. These flare slacks from Express have seriously been in my closet for forever. I honestly can’t even remember when I purchased them. You don’t have to have the newest item off the racks. You’d be surprised what you can find in your own closet!
Wearing black on black is great when you are accessorizing with a big statement piece such as this necklace from Stella & Dot.
Cobalt blue is a color that is really happening this season. I discovered these little animal print sunnies at Forever 21.
Blue nails? Why not?! I was super psyched when this color showed up in my Birchbox. It’s “Insta-This” by Color Club Cosmetics.
The blouse is from Zara. It actually has a bit of navy and lace trim with leather on the sleeves. I love the very discreet detail (just wish you could see it in the pictures).
Do you like wearing black on black? If so, what’s your favorite accessory to wear with it?
This is my sTORI being written as you read. – Love, Mommy Tori
