In my household quiet moments are pretty rare. Usually if the house gets quiet I start running around looking to see what Toddler Luke has gotten himself in to. But there are those times when I look up and Luke is silently staring out the window, or he’s down for a nap and I’m enjoying a cup of tea or I’m sitting on the patio reading a book. It’s those quiet moments where you just take a deep breath, maybe say a little prayer of thanks and rejuvenate. Here are a few recent (and some old) quiet moments of my life.
This is a picture of Luke sitting quietly observing some chickens for the first time. Shortly after, he started yelling and chasing them but for that brief minute he was observing something for the first time.
Have you ever experienced “That Kiss” where everything just gets quiet around you? This is one of those moments with Daddy Russ and I.
Here is a photo of Luke when he was 6-months-old. He was lying next to me and staring right in to my eyes before he drifted off to sleep.
This picture is of me from 2008. Daddy Russ took it on a beach that we found in San Francisco right by the Golden Gate bridge. The beach was completely empty and secluded.
I find this picture to be so peaceful. All these majestic oak trees weaving around eachother.
What are the favorite quiet moments in your life?
This is my sTORI being written as you read. – Love, Mommy Tori
Thanks for visiting my blog last night. Enjoyed looking at your quiet moments. I would say my current favorite is just after everyone (including my husband and dog) nod off to sleep in their beds at the conclusion of a busy day. There is no one asking me for anything.
Definitely a quiet moment is when everyone in the house is asleep! I actually do a lot of blogging then.
Coffee and a stack of magazines/catalogs on a snowy morning!
That sounds awesome! We never get snow in San Antonio so I have to imagine how peaceful that would be!
I love the pictures and the filter you use! How did you make your pictures look vintage?
Now I really DO know you love the whole vintage look! 🙂
Thank you very much Auntie K! I’ve been using Pixlr-o-matic recently and find it to be very user-friendly and fun!
I have the same app but you clearly are way better at it! I love all the iphone picture apps. =)
You are too kind!
That’s a truly beautiful photo of you and hubby! It certainly captures that moment you were describing 🙂 gorgeous…
Thank you!! It’s one of my fave pics of us!
