When you are a mom who does events for a living you can pretty much guarantee that you are going to go over the top for your first-born’s first birthday party! And that is exactly what I did! I just couldn’t help myself!

We hosted Luke’s Vintage County Fair Birthday Party this past weekend. It was such a blast and I’d like to invite all of my readers to grab some popcorn and cotton candy and take a tour through the special day!

All photography was provided by the awesomeness of Rhobin Tudyk at R. Denise Photography. Visit her website, blog or Facebook page.

A SPECIAL THANK YOU:

Rhobin: How can I tell you thank you enough for capturing all these memories for us to look at year after year! You are an amazingly talented and beautiful person. I love that our creative spirits have found eachother!

To Our Family & Friends: Thank you to everyone who came to Luke’s Fair and pitched in to make this such a fantastic day for Luke. Daddy Russ and I couldn’t have done it with out you. Special thanks to:

– Mamaw and PawPaw – I know you worked your butts off! Poor PawPaw did about a million trips back and forth to our house and the park.

– Aunt MaeMae and Uncle Al – Big helpers! Thanks for the muscle power, Alex!

– Uncle Terry & Aunt Shanda – Those haybales added the finishing touches!

– Andrea – Thank you for letting me borrow EVERYTHING vintage that you have! A big thanks to Paul Neilson for all the vintage coke crates!

– Daddy Russ – Thank you for putting up with my “over-the-topness” and tolerating that our extra bedroom looked like a carnival puked for two months!

This is my sTORI being written as you read. – Love, Mommy Tori

Hi Tori, wow, the photography here is amazing! These pictures could easily be vintage 4th of July postcards. That’s actually what we thought they were at first.

Way to bring in Luke’s first birthday! He must have had so much fun!

You’re very welcome, Tori. For some reason, today we just decided that was enough.

Your posts are far too good for us to just continue reading and not saying anything on them. 🙂

We’ve been meaning to for a while. So no problem at all. Glad you all had such a good time!

THIS IS SUCH AN ADORABLE PARTY! I agree if you’re an event planner, you have to always go all out for every birthday, especially the 1st! I love the vintage theme and the colors. You did such a beautiful job! Where did you get those amazing candy carts?

Thank you so much! I love anything vintage so the theme was perfect! My husband works in the wine business and it was actually a wooden wine display that he found at work. I spray painted it white. Definitely a lucky find!

Such a lucky find! That is treasure right there! Tori, I love any vintage themed too and as a matter of fact, I’m throwing a Vintage Ocean Themed party for a brother (3) and sister(1). What ideas can you think? I would love to know your thoughts!

Oh, you can have so much fun with nautical themes! Check this out: http://pinterest.com/pin/125045327123845535/. I love the wood that looks like it just floated up on shore, pennant banners on rope, and life preserver. Old lanterns, plasticware + napkins tied with rope. For Luke’s party I picked up old scrap wood at construction sites that were going in the trash. Then you can paint on them. If I can help more email me at tori@torijohnsonpr.com.

I love the vintage nautical except I’m trying to steer away from the nautical red and blue and go towards more the sea shells, sea stars, etc…more ocean-y? I love the idea with rope and scrap wood idea though! I will defintley keep you in mind and your email in my contact list! 🙂

I completely understand about going away from the red and blue. An activity idea…guests can write their own “message in a bottle.” You can have a station with empty bottles, paper, variety of pens.

Thanks so much Tori! I would love to bounce ideas off of each other since we’re both into events!
