Did you know that when Dom Perignon first tasted champagne he yelled to the other monks, “Come quickly, I am tasting the stars!” I find this saying to be inspirational and use it as a metaphor in my life. I want to experience that level of joy and excitement on a daily basis – I want to taste the stars!

I decided to have a picnic in the backyard today with Luke. While making our basket I saw a bottle of champagne and thought it was the perfect day to taste some stars!

I threw down one of my great grandmother’s quilts along with the picnic basket, Luke, the dog, some bubbles and (of course) my trusty camera.

I love the taste of champagne – it is just such a happy drink. I, personally, believe that champagne should not be reserved for only special occasions but should be enjoyed frequently!

Polka dots are a classic fashion trend that is irresistible right now! My navy polka dot blouse is from Old Navy and paired with white shorts. I found this hat on the sale rack at Target and grabbed it up. Luke and I are always outside so attractive hats are a must to protect from the sun.

Our backyard during Spring is so pretty – green and full of flowers. We are also on a hill so there is a constant breeze. It’s our little private haven.

Luke enjoyed a variety of fruits – first he played with them then mommy cut them up so he could eat.

My dog, Havana, also joined us. She is known as Pookie around our house and happens to be one of the words Luke started saying in the last couple weeks that we can actually understand. Luke adores Pookie and they are always running around playing with eachother.

Our Texas A&M picnic basket was given to us by Daddy Russ’ sister, Andrea. Thank you!

Mommy Tori had cheese, crackers, salami, almonds and fruit.

Cheers!

Vintage pearl necklace given to me by my Nannie. They aren’t real pearls but they are still very special to me!

Pearl earrings given to me by Daddy Russ.

In addition to having bubbly we also had bubbles!!

Luke was too young to blow the bubbles (he mostly wanted to eat the wand). So I blew them for him.

Luke says, “Peace Out!” To view more pictures from our “Champagne Picnic” click here.

Do you have a favorite champagne? If so, let me know so I can see what those stars taste like!

This is my sTORI being written as you read. – Love, Mommy Tori
